Privacy policy
FOGVAULT is a non-commercial fan project operated from Switzerland; data is hosted in Switzerland. This policy applies under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for EU/EEA users, the GDPR.
Data we process
- Account - the email address, display name and avatar provided by Google or Discord when you sign in, the provider's account identifier, and the username you choose. No password is ever stored.
- Steam (optional) - if you link a profile: your SteamID64, public name and avatar, Dead by Daylight achievements and public game statistics. Read-only, used solely to verify Adepts and display your stats.
- Content you create - builds (title, description, tags, loadout), likes, quiz scores.
- Preferences - language, notification and appearance settings, manually marked Adept progress.
- Security - your two-factor authentication secret if you enable it, and technical logs (reliability and abuse prevention).
What we do not do
No advertising, no third-party trackers or analytics, no profiling, and your data is never sold or rented.
Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies only: a session cookie (sign-in) and a language cookie. Some display preferences are kept locally in your browser. There are no third-party cookies - which is why there is no consent banner.
Recipients
- Google / Discord - for sign-in only; they pass us your email, name and avatar under their own policies.
- Steam (Valve) - queried only if you link your profile, for public data.
- Email delivery - if email notifications are enabled on the server and you opted in, your address is shared with the delivery provider for that sole purpose.
Legal bases (GDPR)
Performance of contract (account features), consent (email notifications, Steam linking - both revocable at any time in Settings) and legitimate interest (security and abuse prevention).
Retention
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account (Settings → Data) permanently erases your profile, builds, likes, Adept progress, scores and preferences. Technical logs are purged regularly.
Your rights
Access and portability: export everything (Excel, PDF or email) from Settings → Data. Erasure: delete your account in the same place. You also have the rectification and objection rights provided by the FADP and GDPR, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (the FDPIC in Switzerland, or your local authority in the EU).
Children
The service is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
Any material change to this policy will be published on this page with a new revision date.
